Do you have an adult child, spouse, or other family member who is entrenched in passivity and entitlement? Does it seem like they will never have a coherent sense of accountability for their actions? Are you worried that your emotionally immature loved one will be forever dependent upon you? Non Violent Resistance is a treatment developed to work exclusively with family members and not with the person suffering from emotional dysregulation and entrenched dependence. With the support of Partnership Projects UK, the leading provider of Non Violent Resistance training for professionals, I am developing an educational program for families that combines group classes with individual coaching. This is typically a 12-week intervention (originally developed for parents of children with severe OCD who controlled the whole family with their fears and threats) and I am exploring the development of a 4-6 week extension for people who have already learned the social, emotional, and attentional skills in the 12-week DBT workshop. If you are interested in learning more, I am offering "alpha testing" ONLY FOR GRADUATES of the 12-week family class. You will learn the additional principles of NVR through reading, presentations, and 4 individual coaching sessions. The cost is $330 for four NVR training and coaching sessions. That is a 50% discount, available until April 15, 2025 during this "alpha testing" period. (You can schedule the sessions at your convenience upon registering for the plan. Unused sessions after three months will not be reimbursed.) Non Violent Resistance (NVR) was developed by Haim Omer in Israel and first published in 2006. Clinicians and researchers have appropriated NVR, applied it across many different diagnoses, and even renamed it (SPACE by Eli Lebowitz and Family Wellbeing Approach by Alec Pollard).
