About the Event

Do you have a relative in your family who has intense emotional dysregulation or impulsive behaviors? Are you frustrated and tired of being blamed or verbally attacked? Have you witnessed signs of self-injury or other harmful behaviors? Or perhaps you are a parent worried that your “adult” son or daughter will never really grow up?

Learn basic skills that will help you to feel more balanced, manage all your relationships more effectively, and help move your loved one toward recovery.  This 12-week course will include:

  • Understanding Borderline Personality Disorder
  • The Power of Presence and Acceptance
  • Understanding Emotions
  • Validation, Validation, and More Validation
  • How Behavior is Conditioned and Modified
  • Making Requests and Saying No Effectively
  • Self-Care and Personal Limits
  • How to Deal with Risky Behaviors and Tolerate Distress
  • Ending Black and White Thinking

These skills will help you to find more satisfaction in your own life and improve your relationships with others, but most importantly, they will help you to understand borderline personality disorder and respond more effectively in difficult relationships with persons who have symptoms of bpd.

The course is taught by Corrine Stoewsand, who has 15 years experience working with families of persons with borderline personality disorder. She developed and taught this workshop to thousands of families in six countries in both Spanish and English. Corrine received advanced DBT training for professionals from Dr. Marsha Linehan, founder of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Corrine will be accompanied during the workshop by Randi Kreger, author of Stop Walking On Eggshells, an international best seller with over a million copies sold.
